The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and good location close to the train station and taxi/bus services. I have given an average star review purely based on the reception staff. The morning before we checked out, we asked reception staff to quote us a taxi to the airport, and we were told 50 Euro. When we returned later on that evening to book the taxi, there was a different person at reception. He was rude and quoted us substantially more then the previous clerk. He also insisted we MUST pay cash. We felt obligated as it was late and had to be up very early, so we reluctantly agreed. I understand it was our choice to select this service, however I take issue that we felt like we were being scamned by a representative of what is supposed to be an 'up market' hotel. No complaints about the room, or the hotel itself.

The general quote of 50 Euros for a taxi cab is correct, unless you use the taxi service during night-time (from 09.00 pm to 07.00 am) when a surcharge is regularly applied. We apologize for not asking you the time of your departure, as well as for not having given you immediately the complete information, but we can assure you without any doubt that it wasn’t our intention at all to let you feel scammed. This is not absolutely our behavior, and we are really sorry to hear that we were not able to dedicate you the right time and attention. All our team share the wish to give an unforgettable experience to all our guests; politeness and professionalism are our strengths, we all aim to offer an high quality service and we are not used to have these feedback. We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the end of our trip in Italy. We had a small issue at the beginning of our stay forcing us to change rooms, but the hotel staff went above and beyond to make things right and to check in with us for the rest of our stay. Both the front desk staff and the bar staff were extremely helpful in ensuring we had a great stay in Venice. The rooms were a bit small but they were very clean and the bathrooms were great. Getting the air conditioning turned on was a bit confusing, but the staff actually came to the room and showed us how when we asked. Lastly, we chose the hotel for its close proximity to Piazzale Roma as we had a 6am flight - the hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the bus to the airport (first bus is at 4:20am), which worked out extremely well for us.

Our room may have been a little small but it had all the upgrades one could ask for, the lighting, the electric plugs, the shower and it was beautifully decorated, even a fresh orchid in the bathroom. I loved the bed with the plushy pillows and blankets. The AC worked great and the TV was easy to use. We ate dinner at their restaurant twice and service and food was superb. We also had breakfast in the gorgeous dining area and the waiters were very attentive every morning. We love the variety of foods and fresh juices. We'd definitely come back.
